PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION

A white background with a few lines on it

The pre-delivery inspection consists of a visual examination of the interior and exterior of the building, its systems and components, and the production of a report outlining any deficiencies and items to be completed that have been noted at the time of the inspection. It’s carried out before the property is received, in compliance with the Quebec Construction Code (CCQ).

The Components We Inspect:

Exterior

1. Entrance

2. Halls

3. Roof

4. Exterior Cladding

5. Doors, Windows, Skylights, Garage Doors and Other Openings

6. Building Access, Stairs, Terraces, or Balconies

7. Chimneys and Flues

Interior

1. Entrance

2. Halls

3. Living Room, Dining Room, Bedrooms

4. Kitchen and WC (bathroom and toilet)

5. Basement and Other Spaces
6.
Garage

It’s carried out jointly by the warranty beneficiary (the buyer) and the contractor. If the beneficiary does not have good knowledge of the property’s build, they can be accompanied by a person of choice for the pre-delivery inspection, i.e. hire a qualified, insured, and diligent inspector. As a basic rule, this inspection must be carried out using the pre-established list of items to be checked provided by the warranty plan administrator, or in its absence, may take the form of an inspection report produced by the inspector.
